Acting Board of Directors

President, Jennifer Skeesick

Jenn grew up showing Hunters/Eq, foxhunting and learning valuable horsemanship in the horse country in the South. She graduated from Auburn University in 2003. While at Auburn, Jennifer was a member of the inaugural varsity equestrian team. She had the opportunity to ride for the team for four years and serve as the co-captain. Following undergrad, she attended Duke University and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She has worked in a variety of sports and orthopedic settings and particularly enjoys working with adaptive athletes. Jenn lives in Nampa with her awesome husband and three kids on a small farm with many creatures.

Secretary, Celia Brennan

Celia grew up riding in southern CA, doing hunters, jumpers, and big Eq while training with Carol Dean-Porter. She took 15 years off to start a family and her career as a hairstylist but her love of horses always remained. Her family moved to Idaho in 2019 and she found Autumn Hills and knew she had to get back in the saddle.

She owns a sassy 6 year old mare, Walk of Fame and is looking forward to their future together. She loves being able to give back to the community, both through BSJC and a show clothing rental company she co-owns with her friend called Eq4Rent. She loves being able to help make horse showing more accessible and affordable, especially to the riders in the Treasure Valley.

Treasurer, Sara Pealy

Sara grew up riding hunters and jumpers in the Seattle area with Teri Duplass and later, Denise Youell. Family ties brought her to the Treasure Valley in 2008, where she traded her english saddle for a western one and worked on her family’s cattle ranch in Sweet, Idaho. As luck would have it, she was introduced to BSJC in 2020 and the rest, as they say, is history.

Outside of BSJC, Sara owns two mares, a 3-year old and 6-year old, both of whom are wildly opinionated. When not at the barn she can be found in the hills with her husband and their dogs Wanda and Lila, or running the product team at a software startup.

Member at Large, Kortney Bahem

Kortney was born and raised on a farm in Homedale, ID. She grew up showing working cow horses and reiners. She attended college on a full-ride livestock and horse judging scholarship and also competed on a college national finals ranch horse team with her personal mare. She graduated Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s in Equine Science with a Reproduction Minor, and a Bachelor’s in Animal Science with a Meat Science Minor.

She fell in love with hunter/jumpers while she was a working student off and on through high school and college. As an adult she was finally able to purchase her own horse for the sport, and she’s 100% immersed herself in this discipline over the last four years. Her and her husband reside in her hometown of Homedale where they own and operate a custom butcher shop. She shows an OTTB and has a Westfalen yearling she’s prepping for the hunter breeding. When not riding, you can find her raising livestock, milking her cows and studying bloodlines. She has a keen interest in bringing along young horses and hopes to have her own small sporthorse breeding program someday.
