FAMILY MEMBERSHIP DETAILS AND DUES
Memberships run from December 1st-November 30th. Dues must be paid prior to horse/rider competing in order for points to count.

Each individual member is allowed to register one horse with their BSJC Membership for $35. Each additional horse is $10.00. The form below can also be used for a family membership, where each competing member is allowed to register one horse. The family membership is $50. This form allows you to submit your membership dues via credit or debit card. Contact BSJC directly via email bsjcidaho@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Alongside the terms of membership below, you'll also find the BSJC Code of Conduct. It presents the expectations for conduct from competitors and/or horse owners, parents, staff/officials and trainers who participate in BSJC sanctioned events. The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to promote a safe and positive environment by making all parties aware that there is an expectation at all times of appropriate behavior consistent with BSJC values. We hold horsemen, parents, trainers, staff and community members to a high standard of sportsmanship. Enforcing this Code of Conduct allows BSJC to promote a safe, rewarding, and fun equine experience for our entire community. Please read the document carefully. Each participant, parent, staff, and trainer is required to acknowledge the Code of Conduct and must abide by the Code of Conduct. Violations may result in disciplinary action including suspension either temporarily or permanently as determined by BSJC.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By agreeing to membership, I agree that BSJC may use photographs of me for promotional purposes, whether in printed brochures or on the respective clubs’ websites. Must be signed to participate in club activities of Boise Saddle & Jump Club (BSJC)

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK: I, the undersigned, intend to participate in an equestrian activity sponsored by or affiliated with the Boise Saddle & Jump Club. I am fully aware that certain inherent and unavoidable risks and dangers are involved in any equestrian activity. I understand that these risks, hazards, and dangers could result in my injury, discomfort, illness, disease, or death, or damage to my personal property or the property of others.

ACCEPTANCE OF RISK AND RESPONSIBILITY: Being aware that this activity entails risks, hazards, and dangers, I agree to accept and assume all responsibility and risk for any injury, discomfort, illness, disease, death, and damage to personal property arising from my participation in this activity. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary, no one is forcing me to participate, and I elect to participate in spite of the risks, hazards, and dangers.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY: In consideration of being permitted to participate in this activity, I agree, pursuant to the limitations on liability pertaining to equestrian activities contained in Title 6, Chapter 18, Idaho Code, not to hold BSJC, their officers, directors, agents, and employees or the owner or operator of the facility at which these activities occur and their officers, directors, agents and employees liable for any injury or damage to my person or property.

HEREBY VOLUNTARILY RELEASE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE BSJC, THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, AND INSURERS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, OR RIGHTS OF ACTION WHICH ARE RELATED TO OR ARISE IN ANY MANNER OUT OF MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS ACTIVITY. This release of liability includes, but is not limited to any negligent acts or omissions of BSJC, their officers, directors, agents, and employees, which may result in my personal injury, discomfort, illness, disease, or death, or damage to my property. This release of liability also expressly extends to, and includes the owner and operator of the facility at which the equestrian activity will be held and their officers, directors agents and employees.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF EFFECT OF THIS RELEASE AGREEMENT: I understand and acknowledge that by signing this document, I have given up substantial legal rights and/or possible claims which I might otherwise assert or maintain in the future including, but not limited to legal rights and claims for the negligent acts or omissions of BSJC, their officers, directors, agents, employees, and the owner and operator of the facilities. I further agree that the laws of the State of Idaho shall govern the terms and effect of this agreement.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT: I understand that this is the entire agreement between me and BSJC, and that it cannot be modified or changed in any way by oral or written representations or statements of any employee or agent of BSJC made before or after my execution of this form.

I HAVE READ THIS LIABILITY RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND UNDERSTAND ALL ITS TERMS. I EXECUTE IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE, OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME AND WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE OF ITS SIGNIFICANCE.

CODE OF CONDUCT
RESPECT FOR HORSE
- I will place my horse’s welfare above all other considerations.
- I will treat my horse with the kindness, respect and compassion that they deserve, and I will never mistreat my equine partner.
- I will always provide for the wellbeing of my horse. I believe the equestrian sport is based on a partnership between the horse I am responsible for and human athlete and will maintain respect at all times for both.

RESPECT FOR SELF
- I will act with fairness and integrity in the pursuit of excellence in equine sport.
- I will practice drug-free sport and avoid the use of alcohol and drugs while riding.
- I will refrain from using profane, insulting, harassing or otherwise offensive language.
- I will always maintain high personal behavior standards.

RESPECT FOR OTHERS
- I will refrain from comments or behaviors which are abusive, offensive, racist, sexist, or otherwise belittling or demeaning to others.
- I will treat everyone with the same degree of courtesy and respect regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion and belief, sex and/or sexual orientation.
- I will conduct myself in a professional manner relating to language, temper and punctuality, be courteous, kind and always set a good example in dress and behavior.
- I will never engage in or tolerate any form of bullying.
- I will not ride aggressively or with hostility and will behave graciously in triumph or defeat.
- I will be respectful and a good sport to exhibitors, trainers, officials, opponents, and staff.
- I will be honest, fair, and respectful to others at all times.
- I understand that staff, officials, teammates and opponents are all integral to sport and worthy of my respect. It is my responsibility to maintain self-control and will accept decisions made without arguments.
- I will not belittle or ridicule anyone involved in an equine event–in public, private, in-person, or online
- I will conduct myself in accordance with this code of conduct online as well as it pertains to BSJC Facebook and online communities.

RESPECT FOR SPORT
- I will put the emotional and physical well-being of participants and the equine athlete ahead of a personal desire to win.
- I will respect the decisions of officials or trainers.
- I will under no circumstances engage in an argument with a judge or official. Any discussions or conversations with officials or judges will be in a respectful tone.
- I will model good sportsmanship.
- I am committed to participating in sport with integrity and pledge to learn, understand, and maintain respect for myself, my teammates, officials, staff and trainers.
- I will follow all safety protocols governed by the United States Equestrian Federation.
- I serve as an Ambassador for my sport and Boise Saddle and Jump Club. I will always pursue to reflect positively on them through my conduct, dress, and behavior.

IF THE PROPOSED PARTICIPANT IS UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN YEARS, the following must be executed by his or her parents or legal guardian.) I have read the foregoing Assumption of Risk and Liability Release Form, which has been executed by my child. I agree to the signing thereof, and the terms and conditions of the agreement, and for the consideration therein stated, agree that said Release shall be binding upon said child and upon the undersigned as parent or legal guardian.
