New Horse & Rider Combos:

*Jen Koval has purchased a new horse from Lorraine Wilcox in Hailey.
His name is Langolier but his friends call him Snoo (like Snookums). He
is a Canadian TB gelding who had been competing in the level 3 & 4
jumpers with Lucky 13 Ranch. He made his transition into hunter-land
with Jen when they teamed up in August ‘07. He likes bananas, the
banana Lik-It in his stall, long walks through the produce section of the
grocery store, and bananas. He is also moody and likes everything a
certain way… we must assume then, that he would not be impressed by
a banana squash. Jen and Snoo have been off to a very impressive
start together at shows.

*Megan Gruver is the new owner of Limerick! After looking for a horse
she could move up on, Megan rode Limerick at a couple of horse shows
just for experience.  She was champion in her divisions at each of those
shows and her family decided that they didn't need to look any further
for the match they were seeking.  Megan will show in the short stirrup,
the mini medal and may venture over to the jumper ring a time or two to
get her more prepared for the EQ ring.

*Becky Klaus-Young... Yes it's true! She has finally found the horse of
her dreams! After a long search for the perfect match, Becky found her
wonderful new mare "Texas". Good luck to both of them!

*LaRae White has a new horse!  After losing the best first horse a girl
could have last year, she has found a great new partner.  Moose is a 9
year old QH gelding who will hack around the ring, jump around the
fences or head out in the country. Bobbie says that they are so glad to
have him in their barn and as a part of their crew. Congrats!

Fun News:

*Nancy Roche’s horse The North Wind won multiple breed awards for
last year! 2007 Irish Draught Horse Society of North America (Canada &
USA) Champion in Eventing. Reserve Champion in Dressage Level 1
(through 2nd level) and an Honorable Mention in Show Jumping Level 1
(Below 3’9”). They also took home the Versatility Award! Congrats
Nancy & Breezer!
New News from EquineAbility:

At the June SLC show on the polo field, ZaZu ridden by Bobbie White
was reserve champion in the baby green division and was second in
the 1000.00 hunter classic.  Zazu was also champion of the Long
stirrup 18 and over division, sweeping that division with Janne Knight in
the irons.  Emily Nicholas and As It Happens was Champion of the
Medium stirrup division as well.

At the July SLC show Megan Gruver riding Limerick was Champion of
the Medium stirrup division and won the 300.00 hunter classic also.
Erin Harris and Teddy Roosevelt were 3rd in the 1000.00 jumper
classic and 2nd in the 500.00 jumper classic.  Preventing Megan from
sweeping the Medium stirrup division was Betsy Luce riding Sweet
Caroline who won one of the hunter classes in that division.
